iRacing has launched its 2025 Season 1 update, introducing a variety of new cars, tracks, and features to enhance the virtual racing experience. Here's an overview of the latest additions:
New Cars:
- Acura NSX GT3 EVO 22: This GT3 contender, with a successful three-season run in IMSA, including a Petit Le Mans victory, joins iRacing's GT3 lineup.
- BMW M2 CS Racing (Free): Homologated for TCX racing and featured in the M2 CS Racing Cup, this car is now available as free base content for all iRacing members.
- Ferrari 499P: Celebrating Ferrari's return to tracing after 50 years, the 499P, fresh off consecutive Le Mans victories, is now part of iRacing's prototype fleet.
- Supercars Gen 3: The latest generation of Supere Chevrolet Camaro and Ford Mustang, makes its debut, with previous-generation models moved to Legacy content.
New Tracks:
- Huset's Speedway: A highly reqrt oval in South Dakota, known for its role in the World of Outlaws series, is now available.
- Thruxton Circuit: Recognized as one of the UK's fastest circuits, Thruxton joins iRacing's British track roster, complete with a fully drivable infield runway.
- New Hampshire Motor Speedway: The speedway receives an art upgrade, and two layouts—Road Course and Road Course with Northd to AI Racing.
Feature Enhancements:
- Demo Drive: Formerly Test Drive, this feature has been rebuilt and integrated directly into the iRacing UI, allowing solo laps with any owned content during maintenance periods.
- Debris Refresh: Updates include new surface parameters for gravel and mud, more realistic impacts on racing, and refreshed visuals.
- Netcode Improvements: Enhancements to the netcode system improve the experience for drivers facing lag and others in the session.
- Specular Lighting Upgrade: An improved lighting system increases contrast and reduces excessive brightness for a more realistic appearance.
- Spotter Damage Effects Report: Spotters now inform drivers if damage negatively affects car performance.
- Rain Racing: The Formula Vee joins the list of cars enabled for rain racing, expanding weather dynamics in the simulation.
- AI Racing: All five new cars and three new track configurations are now available for AI Racing, enhancing single-player experiences.
These updates aim to provide a more immersive and realistic racing experience for iRacing members, offering new content and improvements across various aspects of the simulation.
